The Clinical Mind Competition aims to develop clinical reasoning and teamwork, testing knowledge, and encouraging learning.
The multiple-choice questions are made in real-time during the congress and scores are awarded.
In the end, the winning team (of 2 participants) will get the opportunity to go on an internship in an international cooperation mission in São Tomé e Princípe and the chance to participate in the project “Saúde para Todos” with medical teams from Instituto Marquês Valle Flôr.

Rob Tidwell is a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at University College London Hospital specialising in general adult and haematological intensive care. He was awarded a Medical Research Council Research Training Fellowship for his work on the pathophysiology of sepsis at University College, London and Yale Universities which he completed with Professor Mervyn Singer. His ongoing research interests focus on improving patient safety and care through development of innovative technologies.
Everyone that has a ticket of iMed Conference 17.0 can participate in the Clinical Mind Competition.
No. Any medical student who is a participant of the iMed Conference can participate. However, please note that the questions will be mostly based on clinical reasoning, and they will be the same for all participants, regardless of their curricular year.
The winning team will be awarded a two-week internship in São Tomé e Príncipe. The 1st runner-up team may choose between a Medical Internship in Neurosurgery or the book “Goldman-Cecil Medicine, 2-Volume Set (26th edition)” for each team’s members. The 2nd runner-up team with be awarded with the remaining prize.
