This year's edition is focused on the Humanitarian side of Medicine and will feature some fantastic and inspiring lectures for you! João Araújo, Francisco Stilwell and Nuno Basílio will be the speakers of the afternoon and there will also be a round table, moderated by Helena Canhão!
And of course, let's not forget the amazing coffee breaks where you will find a wide selection of delicious foods, snack and drinks!

Helena Canhão is the Dean of NOVA Medical School, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Full Professor of Medicine, Coordinator of the Research Unit Comprehensive Health Research Center (CHRC), and Head of the Associated Laboratory REAL. She is the President of the Portuguese Medical Schools’ Council (CEMP) for 2023-2024. She is Chair of the Advisory Council of AICIB and the Collaborative Laboratory Value for Health. Helena Canhão is also a Senior Rheumatology Consultant and head of the Rheumatology Unit at CHULC- Hospital Santo Antonio dos Capuchos, Lisboa.
Francisco Stilwell is a professional equestrian rider with more than 200 victories in national and international competitions and 11 medals in National Championships in various categories. He was born with spina bifida, a congenital anomaly of the nervous system, which caused deformity and lack of sensibility in his left foot. After 27 years, more than 30 surgeries, and several infections, Francisco decided to go ahead with the amputation. Five months later, Francisco returned to competition with a new goal: to go to the Olympic Games to compete as a professional equestrian in the discipline of Eventing.
João Pärtel Araújo is a healthcare professional, that has transitioned into non-profit business management, focusing on social entrepreneurship. With a track record of successfully implementing impactful social projects globally, João currently leads international initiatives, notably Humanitude. As an expert in Humanitud techniques for caring for the elderly and those in need, he oversees a team of 60+ trainers across Europe and Asia, certifying over 50,000 individuals. João's work reflects a strong commitment to improving care for vulnerable populations worldwide.
Dr. Nuno Basílio is a family doctor and is currently the Clinical Director of Primary Health Care at ULS Lisboa Ocidental. Dr. Nuno Basílio is also an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at NOVA Medical School. He previously worked as an Auditor for the Health Technology Assessment Commission. He was awarded the Junior Research Award 2017 and is involved in various clinical research projects.
